ASABA —Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Crusaders and Gate-to-Gate political pressure group in Delta State, have joined Nigerians to congratulate Deltans and the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the state celebrates 25 years of statehood.
Addressing newsmen, leaders of the two groups, Prince Suru Diden, Churchill Tonukaren and other executive members, while commending Governor Okowa on the success of his SMART- agenda despite the teething economic problems bedeviling the nation, called on the governor to address the alleged marginalisation of their groups by way of appointments and empowerment in line with the governor’s prosperity for all Deltan’s mantra.
Diden said: “Right now, we need the governor to appreciate our undiluted show of loyalty, dedication, commitment and support for his ambition, even while he was our party aspirant, and then candidate, before eventually becoming our governor.
“One would have expected that having worked hard, tirelessly and relentlessly for the governor to assume office, the people who were in the forefront should be recognised, compensated and remunerated, considering the volume of work and gravity of the sacrifices we made."
